In the next issue of Housing Specification we will be looking at the wide world of cladding.

Aesthetically pleasing, lightweight, and easy and quick to install, timber cladding is used extensively by specifiers, to protect and enhance the appearance of a property’s outer walls, in a practical, cost effective and sustainable manner.

Whether the cladding is made of hardwood, softwood or modified timber, the implementation of an appropriate maintenance and redecoration schedule using time-proven, decorative and protective coatings is the key to maximising its performance in all weathers and retaining the natural attractive appearance of the wood over the long term.

Companies are increasingly looking for different ways to highlight the full range of products. The premium woodcare brand Sadolin offers specifiers and the maintenance team an extensive range of woodcare products to protect and decorate exterior timber cladding, with solvent borne and waterborne options and a full range of finishes available.

These off-the-shelf solutions, which all provide microporous protection that allows the wood to ‘breathe’, are explored in a new and informative video, ‘A Protective Overcoat for Cladding’,available to view at Sadolin’s YouTube channel.

Presented by Sadolin Technical Consultant Sean Thompson, this is the sixth in a series of seven videos produced under the ‘This Is Sadolin’ series, to help Sadolin’s professional customers in all sectors of the market to specify and apply woodcare products effectively and deliver the very best results, whatever type of project they are working on.
